Introduction:
This position reports into the End-to-End Design Methodology DTE group and will be part of a team that provides design methodology collateral & support for GF’s feature rich design platforms. Your role focuses on the development, maintenance and support of effective methodologies, guidelines, flows & environments for digital, analog or automotive design within a multi-site, global work environment.
Your Job:
- Develop design guidelines including margining for variation and reliability, best design and design analysis practices, recommended EDA tool usage and EDA tool flows.
- Develop reference design and analysis flows and design environments optimizing the use of GF’s technology definitions, PDKs, 3rd party IP, and EDA tools.
- Create and verify PDK components enabling digital Synthesis, Place & Route EDA flows.
- Compose and maintain tape-out ready design environments and support the design process for GF’s internal IP and test chip design teams
- Handle incoming IP, incoming check, regression, and preparation to provide a stable and predictable design environment
- Work with 3rd party EDA SW and IP providers to resolve issues that appear during design
- Work with GF internal technology, PDK and IP teams to optimize the design process and feedback learning from design.
- Establish data analysis frameworks and methodology to allow for data analytics based automation and efficiency improvements.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs
- Automotive design, flows
- Hands-on Autopro, automotive design experience
- Understanding of auto reliability, high-sigma and functional safety features
- Knowledge of digital, analog design guidelines and reference flows
- Understanding of technology variation and corner methodology
- Understanding of Model, PEX, SOA, DRC, DRC+ and physical verification methodologies
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in at least one of the following design fields
- Digital design methodology and flows
- Design libraries formats, library characterization and margining
- Synthesis, Place & Route with Synopsys or Cadence tool chain
- Physical Verification (DRC, DRC+, DFM, LVS) with SIEMENS EDA or Synopsys tool chain
- Parasitics extraction
- Static timing analysis
- EM/IR analysis
- Spice simulation
- Design finishing (Fill, chip finishing)
- Analog Mixed Signal Design
- Cadence Virtuoso design environment
- Device and parasitics extraction flows with Synopsys, SIEMENS EDA, Cadence tool flows
- Spice simulation of analog circuit pre- and post-layout.
- Reliability verification: aging & EM simulation.
- Physical verification and its integration
- Hands-on UNIX based scripting and automation skills using make, shell, TCL, Python, Perl,
- “Ph.D” or “Master’s degree ” or “Bachelor degree + 2 years relevant experience” in electrical or computer engineering fields.
- Ability to work within multi-site, inter-cultural teams in a diverse & inclusive global environment.
- Fluency in English Language – Professional fluency
Preferred Qualifications:

- Programming skills Java, C/C++, Python, Cadence SKILL, Mentor SVRF, Keysight AEL etc
- Experience in creating data analytics infrastructure and application interfaces
- Build automation system, e.g., Jenkins
- Version Control Systems, e.g., P4, CVS, SVN
- Fluency in English Language – Professional fluency
